As we edge ever closer to the summer, it’s time to start thinking about new opportunities and brushing up on your skills. Unitemps Roehampton and Santander have been working together to match Roehampton students and graduates to a range of exciting internships. Here is what some of the previous interns and employers had to say about the scheme.
“I liked feeling I was making an impact for better”
Angela Legg
BA Drama, Theatre and Performance, Class of 2014
Development Assistant
“It was an experience of office life in a small organisation. I liked the environment and the people and learning new database skills and feeling I was making an impact for the better. It was a real eye opener and I hope the experience will make me more employable in future.”
“The staff were brilliant in matching me to the right place”
Remi Stride
BA English Literature, Class of 2016
Sales Assistant
“The experience was beneficial in that it was great experience to work in a theatre. It was great to explore another avenue of the arts that I hadn’t previously considered. The theatre was a nurturing and supportive environment. Unitemps were brilliant in matching me to the right place.”
“Our graduate is making a significant difference to the team’s overall performance”
Ashwin Sadull
Founder and Managing Director, Better Than Paper
“The Roehampton Internship Scheme gave me the opportunity to interview and access a pool of talented local graduates. The fact that they are paid a salary certainly creates a more professional approach by the prospective intern. We have now employed our graduate on a permanent role. I would recommend this programme to any local small business looking to employ skilled graduates into their team.”
“Treat any internship as a permanent job and the employers will want to keep you.”
Hannah Warwick
BA Photography & Business Management, Class of 2012
Operations Manager
“It is always worth doing internships or work placements to gain experience. After my internship I was offered a position on a freelance basis, then offered a permanent position, and then promoted to Operations Manager. ”
