As the new calendar year begins, we have chosen to look back and celebrate what we have achieved at Unitemps over the last 12 months.
Plenty has happened both internally and externally as we continue to explore ways of improving the service we offer as well as expanding our franchise network. In February we opened our 10th franchise at Canterbury Christ Church University and are currently in dialogue with a number of other prospective universities.
Another way in which we are increasing our presence in the sector is by attending conferences both nationally and internationally. We have visited the likes of AGCAS (Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services), BUFDG (British Universities Finance Directors Group), and UHR (Universities Human Resources) in the UK, as well as travelling to conferences globally by visiting the likes of NAGCAS (Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services) and Universities Australia Higher Education Conference during the past 12 months. Visiting conferences such as these allows us to network with people from our sector and develop new business.
As well as attending conferences, we have also held our very own Annual Conference. We hosted the conference at the University of Warwick in July, and this yearly event allows members of staff from across the Unitemps network to get together. The conference is a two-day event, with the first day consisting of various workshops and sessions which allow an opportunity to share best practice, followed by an awards evening celebrating some fantastic branch and individual achievements. The second day is a more relaxed event where everyone is split into teams for team building activities.
There has also been continued ongoing support offered to our franchise network in addition to this. Regular Manager Meetings have taken place where business development ideas have been discussed, as well as sharing best practice in the daily operational running of a Unitemps franchise. External Workshops were held where our recruitment consultants discussed ideas on client and candidate generation. Another workshop we have recently implemented is the Disability Support Workshop to be offered to staff across our network to help broaden the service they are able to offer.
We continue to support our candidates in every way possible and are pleased to announce some outstanding figures for 2015. As a whole, our candidates have completed 2.8m hours of work during 2015, over 15,000 different jobs which emphasises the varied working opportunities we are giving to our candidates to give them the chance to earn some money whilst improving their skills. We have worked with over 18,000 candidates in this time and the amount of money paid out to students stands at an impressive £12.7m.
Creating marketing materials is a vital part of the support we offer our franchises as we look to develop new business, whilst maintaining the high standards set across the network. New brochures have been produced for all of the markets we look after – franchise, client and candidate. This fresh material allows us to update any information and ethos to our target audiences and keeps our brand fresh moving forward. Marketing doesn’t just exist in the form of literature and for the 2015/16 academic year we have begun sponsoring the University of Warwick’s Mixed Netball Team. Towards the end of 2015 we also started filming for an exciting new project that will see each of our branches showcased throughout 2016.
In summary, it has been a very productive 2015 for Unitemps and there is plenty to look forward to in 2016 where we hope to bring you more exciting news and results from across our network.
